Epidermal E-Cadherin Dependent β-Catenin Pathway Is Phytochemical Inducible and Accelerates Anagen Hair Cycling

Ahmed, N. S., et.al (2017). Molecular Therapy.

The novel pathway for hair follicular regeneration was elucidated in this study. Application of tocotrienol on shaved skin of murines decrease E-cadherin expression. This consequently causing high translocation of beta-catenin and up-regulate the pluripotency factors which ultimately leading to hair follicular regeneration.
Effects of Tocotrienol Supplementation on Hair Growth in Human Volunteers

Lim, A. B., et.al (2010). Trop Life Sci Res

The effect of tocotrienol supplementation on hair growth in volunteers suffering from hair loss was investigated. This observed effect was most likely to be due to the antioxidant activity of tocotrienols that helped to reduce lipid peroxidation and oxidative stress in the scalp, which are reported to be associated with alopecia.
US PTO – Tocotrienols and Hair Growth Formulation

Ho., D., et.al (2007).

The present invention relates to a formulation for promoting hair growth and preventing hair loss. Supplementation with tocotrienol formulation promotes hair growth and increases the number of hairs in mammals. In one embodiment, a composition for promoting hair growth and reducing hair loss according to the present invention comprises mixed tocotrienols and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.

In the video below, Prof. Yuen provided an overview on hair growth research on bioenhanced tocotrienol complex (EVNol SupraBio™).
